Tasting Note

Eye-catching ochre/amber color; excellent purity. Opens with a zesty, spicy aroma that’s reminiscent of chalk, dry clay, white pepper, and dried red fruit; considering the cask strength status, the spirit aspect is buried beneath a rich spiciness and now a date/fig element that really makes this bouquet seductive. Entry is semisweet, satiny, and not in the least aggressive spirits-wise; midpalate is composed, seed-like (sesame), medium oily, moderately spicy, creamy, and semisweet. Finishes focused, semisweet, dark caramel-like, and resiny/woody. Rye at its best.
