Tasting Note
Numerous Michter’s bottlings have been reviewed by us over the last decade, overwhelmingly to four and five star ratings. Handsome cinnamon/mahogany color; excellent clarity. I get bread yeast, dark caramel, cocoa bean, worn saddle leather aromas in the first inhalations; later whiffs detect deeper grain scents as well as figs, black raisins. Entry is succulent, full weighted in texture, bittersweet, oaky, toasted; midpalate reflects the entry and goes further by adding candied pineapple, chestnut puree, dark chocolate. Aftertaste is extended, rich, brown sugar-like. Another remarkable edition to the world-class Michter’s portfolio.
