Michter's Master Distiller, Willie Pratt, has over 40 years of experience in the whiskey industry with in-depth knowledge ranging from selection of grain, to distillation, to barreling and maturation. Prior to joining Michter's, Willie spent his career at Brown-Forman where he co-chaired a special committee formed to study cooperage - the art of barrel construction - and to identify optimal distillation and aging conditions for among other things, whiskey taste, aroma, color and yields.
Good naturedly referred to as "Dr. No" by the Michter's salespeople, Willie is known for refusing to release whiskey for bottling until he feels it is just right, even though the whiskey may already be significantly older than the age stated on the label. Additionally, he insists on storing Michter's barrels in not commonly found heat-cycled warehouses even though this significantly increases the "Angel's Share" evaporation during aging.
Willie is a proud native of Louisville, Kentucky where he, his wife Patsy, his children, grandchildren, and his great grandchildren live. Among Willie's outside interests and hobbies are fishing in Florida, riding Harley motorcycles, and - until recently when his plane was totaled on a runway - flying his Cherokee four-seater.
Pam is Michter’s Distiller and Vice President of Production. Prior to joining Michter’s, Pam spent nearly 15 years at Beam Global, Inc., maker of fine whiskeys including Baker’s, Basil Hayden’s, Booker’s, and Knob Creek, and has a strong operational background. Her most recent position at Beam had been overseeing all aspects of whiskey production as Distillery Manager at the Booker Noe Distillery in Boston, Kentucky. During her years at Beam, Pam worked directly with former Master Distiller Jerry Dalton.
An honors graduate of Columbia College in Missouri, she also formally studied distillation at Alltech Institute of Brewing and Distilling in Kentucky. Pam and her husband live in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. They enjoy fishing, gardening and taking motorcycle trips. They split their leisure time between Florida and New York, where their children, grandchildren and Pam's parents live.
Glenn Glaser is a Distiller at Michter's. He began working at Brown-Forman Corporation in 1978 after earning a bachelor degree in Business Economics from Indiana University and an MBA from the University of Louisville. In 1981 he became a Distillery Supervisor at the Early Times Distillery and learned distillery operations from the ground up. His mentors were supervisors and operators from three of Brown-Forman's Bourbon distilleries: Labrot & Graham Distillery, Old Forester Distillery, and Early Times Distillery.
After serving in a variety of distillery management roles at Brown-Forman, Glenn spent the last 11 of his 33 years there running Brown-Forman Distillery as its Distillery Manager. Glenn is a member of the Scottish Section of the Institute of Brewing and Distilling and is an instructor at Distilled Spirits Epicenter in Louisville, Kentucky.
Dan McKee is Michter’s Distillery Manager. He is responsible for day to day operations of the distillery including the distillery lab. Dan began his career in the bourbon industry as a Distillery Operator for Jim Beam at the Clermont plant over 10 years ago. After two years of hands on experience in making some of the industry’s leading bourbons. He was promoted to Distillery Supervisor at the Jim Beam Booker Noe plant for seven years. Dan worked side by side with his fellow operators and supervisors including Pam Heilmann to gain valuable experience in the many aspects of running a distillery.
Dan earned his bachelor degree in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2014.
