It is this award-winning whiskey that is at the heart of our Michter’s Barrel Strength Sour Mash Whiskey. Its unique grain selection means it cannot be categorized as a bourbon or rye, but it strikes the perfect balance between the two. It is distilled to Master Distiller Dan McKee’s exacting specifications according to our classic Sour Mash method before being matured in new charred white oak barrels until Michter’s Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson and the Michter’s tasting panel deem it ready to batch at barrel strength.
